The African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) says its troops killed at least seven militants and injured 11 others in an ambush by Islamist group Al-Shabaab in the southern Somali town of Janale on Tuesday.

JERUSALEM -- An Israeli F-16 war jet exploded during routine training on Wednesday, killing a pilot and injuring his navigator, a military officials said.

The fatal incident occurred in the Ramon Base in southern Israel, a military spokesperson said in a statement, adding that the pilot, whose name was not given, was killed when he was trying to escape the burning aircraft. (Israel-Jet Crash)

DAMASCUS -- The Syrian army announced on Wednesday reducing the air raids over rebel-held areas in the northern province of Aleppo to "enhance the humanitarian conditions" of the civilians, state news agency SANA reported.
