Police foil terror bid, recover huge cache of arms in SW Pakistan

Police in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi has foiled a terror bid by recovering a huge cache of arms and ammunitions from a water tank, local media reported Wednesday.

Samaa News reported that police conducted the operation in Azizabad area of Karachi, the capital city of the country's south Sindh province.

The weapons seized by law enforcers include anti-aircraft guns, anti-tank mines, grenades, LMGs, SMGs, rifles and other explosives.

The weapons were taken to the office of DIG West in four to five trucks. Police said the weapons were seized after receiving information from a criminal in custody.

The provincial government announced a reward of Rs. one million (10,000 U.S. dollars) for the police party which conducted the operation. Endit
