BSH recalls 170,000 gas ovens over explosion risk

Xinhua, October 5, 2016 Adjust font size:

German home appliance manufacturer BSH Tuesday announced recall of 170,000 gas ovens carrying Bosch and Siemens branding because they could explode.

The affected gas ovens were produced between January 2009 and October 2011 and sold primarily in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, according to the company's announcement.

There may be an uncontrolled gas leak under certain circumstances, which could lead to an explosion in the worst case, the company said.

BSH, a joint venture set up in 1967 by Bosch and Siemens, is one of the largest manufacturers of home appliances in Europe and a major company in the sector worldwide. Endit
