The following are news highlights in major Nigerian media outlets on Tuesday.

-- Nigeria's Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs Sola Enikanolaye has said that the Nigerian students who were arrested in Turkey may have been paying for the refusal of the Nigerian government to shut down some Turkish schools and institutions in Nigeria.

Charge D'Affaires of the Nigerian Mission in Turkey, Ibrahim Isah said earlier that two Nigerian students had been in detention for more than two months in Istanbul, Turkey, for allegedly being members of the Fethulla Terrorist Organisation, a group said to be responsible for the coup attempt in Turkey. -- The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation on Monday painted a gloomy outlook for Nigeria's economic fortunes, as it disclosed that the country's crude oil and gas reserves were fast depleting.
