Alcaraz named as new Granada coach

Spanish Primera Liga strugglers, Granada have named Lucas Alcaraz as their first team coach following the sacking of Paco Jemez last week.

Granada born Alcaraz begins a third term at the helm of the club, which he coached for the last time in the season 2013-14, helping them to avoid relegation to the Spanish second division (Liga 123).

The 50-year-old's last job in Spain saw him at the reins of Levante, losing his post just under a year ago after a home defeat to Real Sociedad.

He returns to a club which currently lies bottom of the Spanish Primera Liga with just 2 points from 7 games this season and with a difficult calendar when the Spanish league returns to action in just under a fortnight with games away to Atletico Madrid and Barcelona. Endit
