Over 700 drug-related cases exposed in Myanmar's Yangon in 8 months

Over 700 drug- related cases were exposed in Myanmar's Yangon region in the first eight months of this year under a rule-of-law program of the police, official media reported Monday.

The cases included trading of opium, Yaba pills and other illegal chemical substances.

A total of 993 offenders including 100 women in connection with the cases were arrested under the country's Narcotic drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law and various kinds of stimulants worth over 23 billion kyat(over 18.28 million U.S.dollars) , were destroyed by local authorities.

Meanwhile, nearly 1,000 cases of illegal drug production and distribution were also exposed in northwestern Sagaing region this year. Enditem
