Singapore stocks close 0.05 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 1.37 points, or 0.05 percent, to close at 2,870.84.

A total of 1.03 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 613.0 million Singapore dollars (449.1 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 203 to 167, while 536 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 16.24 points, or 0.56 percent, to close at 2,869.47 on Sept. 30. Endit
