Tokyo stocks advance in morning on softer yen, easing Deutsche Bank concerns

Tokyo stocks rose Monday morning as the yen's retreat gave exporters a boost and easing jitters about Deutsche Bank's financial situation added to a buoyant market mood.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 183.53 points, or 1.12 percent, from Friday to 16,633.37.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, advanced 13.50 points, or 1.02 percent, to 1,336.28.

Retail, securities and food-linked stocks comprised notable issues that advanced in the morning. Endit
