Valencia confirm Prandelli as coach

Spanish Liga club Valencia have confirmed that Italian coach Cesare Prandelli as their new first team coach.

The 59-year-old former boss of the Italian national side, replaces Pako Ayestaran, who was sacked after Valencia lost their first four matches of the season.

Prandelli will be officially presented to the press and fans on Monday evening and has signed a contract which takes him to the end of June 2018.

He will, however, have a difficult task at a club which has devoured coaches since the departure of Unai Emery in 2012. The last four years have seen Valencia sack seven coaches as well as seeing current temporary coach Voro take over the reins on two occasions. Enditem
