5 kids killed, 6 injured in orphanage fire in S. Pakistan

Xinhua, September 30, 2016 Adjust font size:

Five kids were killed and six others injured when fire erupted in an orphanage in Mirpur Khas district in southern Pakistan, local media reported Friday.

The fire broke out in a public orphanage, Pakistan Sweet Homes, in Liaquat Town area of Mirpur Khas, a district located in the country's southern Sindh province, the Samaa News said.

There are contradictory reports about the cause of fire as some officials said the fire erupted due to short circuit while others said a kid sprayed perfume on the mosquito coil which caused fire.

Fire fighters and rescue teams reached at the site and the injured kids were shifted to a nearby hospital.

Police said the fire erupted in the room in which 11 kids were present.

Further investigations into the accident are being made. Endit
