British FTSE 100 rises 1.02 pct on Thursday

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Thursday rose by 1.02 percent, or 70.04 points, to 6,919.42 points.

Share price of Royal Dutch Shell B increased by 6.67 percent, topping the gainers of the blue chips. Royal Dutch Shell A, BHP Billiton, Anglo American and BP increased by 6.59 percent, 6.47 percent, 6.11 percent and 4.34 percent respectively.

Capita led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 26.72, following by Merlin Entertainments (5.86 percent), Barratt Developments (4.19 percent), Babcock International Group (3.77 percent) and Persimmon (3.60 percent). Endit
