China, Germany to hold medical services drill: spokesperson

Xinhua, September 29, 2016 Adjust font size:

China and Germany will hold a joint medical services drill in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality in October, spokesperson Yang Yujun of China's Defense Ministry said Thursday.

The drill, codenamed "Joint Rescue 2016" is scheduled to be held from Oct. 17 to Oct. 29. China and Germany will provide rescue services and epidemic prevention in an imaginary earthquake-stricken area, said Yang.

Medical units from the two countries will participate in the drill. The Chinese team will be equipped with hospital tents, field ambulances, field epidemic control vehicles and transport helicopters. The German unit will operate with armored ambulances and other medical service devices.

The drill will improve collective emergency rescue ability, Yang said. Endi
