NATO chief stresses diplomatic solution for Syria

Xinhua, September 27, 2016 Adjust font size:

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Tuesday condemned the attacks on Aleppo and stressed the importance of a diplomatic solution for Syria, according to NATO's press release.

Stoltenberg spoke of the situation in Syria at a press conference following an informal EU defense ministers meeting in Bratislava.

"The appalling attacks on Aleppo have shaken all of us and the violence and the attacks we have seen also on an aid convoy is morally totally unacceptable," he said.

He underlined the importance of finding a diplomatic and peaceful solution to the crisis in Syria.

At least 20 civilians were killed, as well as an aid worker with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) in an attack that targeted the convoy in Aleppo last week. Endit
