Israeli Prime Minster Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday that ties between his country and the United States will remain strong whether Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump wins the upcoming election.
Netanyahu, who met with the two U.S. presidential candidates in New York on Sunday, was speaking at the start of the weekly cabinet meeting in Jerusalem.
"It doesn't matter which of them will be elected, the American support for Israel will remain strong, the alliance will remain strong and will even grow stronger in the coming years," Netanyahu said.
He added that during Sunday's meetings, both Clinton and Trump "talked about their support of Israel, and the importance of the ties between the two countries."
On Sept. 14, the U.S. and Israel signed a 38 billion dollar U.S. military aid deal. The 10-year package was said to be the largest U.S. military aid to any country. Endit
