Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Monday concluded his three-day official visit to Cuba, further consolidating the comprehensive strategic partnership as the two countries inked more than 20 cooperative deals in a wide range of areas.

This is the first official visit by a Chinese premier to the Caribbean country since Beijing and Havana forged diplomatic ties in 1960. (Cuba-China-Ties)

CARTAGENA, Colombia -- Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos and FARC commander in chief, Timoleon Jimenez, signed a historic peace deal on Monday afternoon in the city of Cartagena, ending a 52-year conflict.

In a special ceremony attended by world leaders, the two men signed the peace agreement to begin a new chapter in the country's history. (FARC-Colombia-Peace)

UNITED NATIONS -- The last scheduled speaker, from the small West African country of Togo, yielded the dark green marble podium on Monday to end the General Debate of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly, where all 193 member states had the opportunity to talk over the past week.

NAIROBI -- A state-of-the-art facility funded by the Chinese government to promote collaborative research with African countries in the field of agriculture and biodiversity conservation was officially handed over to a Kenyan university on Monday.

HOUSTON -- Nine people were injured early Monday when a man armed with several weapons opened fire on vehicles in southwest Houston, the largest city in the U.S. state of Texas.
