Xinhua, September 27, 2016 Adjust font size:

The Albanian supreme state audit (SSA) was asked Monday to launch an auditing process in order to look into all concession contracts that have been carried out in Albania's strategic sectors in the past 25 years, sources from the Albanian parliament said.

This project is expected to last for the next three years.

The Albanian parliamentary committee of economy and finance made this official request during Monday's meeting after adopting the draft resolution of SSA on the activity of this institution for 2015.

Supreme state audit was requested to evaluate the legality, effectiveness and their impact on the state budget and the public, government representatives in the committee said.

In the meantime, the supreme state audit was given several recommendations for 2016. The auditors shall apply management strategies to control risk in order to identify, analyze and monitor key risks, as well as increase cooperation with institutions to better administer public funds and assets.

Meanwhile, the Albanian parliamentary committee of economy also proposed the establishment of a special commission for overseeing the activity of SSA. Endit
