Former senior legislator in Liaoning investigated

A former senior legislator in northeast China's Liaoning Province is being investigated for serious discipline violations, said local authorities on Friday.

Yin Liang was a former member of the Standing Committee of the Liaoning Provincial People's Congress and former chairman and general manager of Fushun Mining Group, according to the provincial discipline watchdog.

Earlier this month, 45 deputies from Liaoning to the national legislature were disqualified for electoral fraud. A total of 523 deputies to the provincial legislature were implicated in the fraud and have either resigned or had their status as deputies terminated. Endi
