Global launch event of Discovery's first adventure park held in New York

Xinhua, September 22, 2016 Adjust font size:

As part of the "2016 China-U.S. Tourism Year," the world's first adventure park by the Discovery brand located in eastern China held its global launch event on Wednesday in Times Square in New York City.

Covering an approximately one-million-square-meter mountainous area within Mogan Mountain in the province of Zhejiang, Discovery Adventures at Moganshan Park will offer guests exhilarating outdoor experiences including zip lines, hiking routes, ropes courses and the largest climbing wall in China -- all guided by trained professionals.

The park is the first theme park under the Discovery brand by the Discovery Communications Inc., famously known for its TV programming offered through the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and the Science Channel.

"People could only watch all those exciting outdoor activities on the Discovery Channel before, but now guests from all around the world can come to Mogan Mountain and experience the excitement in real life," said Yanyan Hong, Vice County-Magistrate of Deqing County.

"The cooperation between Discovery Communications with Deqing County is part of our celebration of 2016 China-U.S. Tourism Year," said Meifang Zhang, Deputy Consul General of the Chinese Consulate General in New York.

"I'm sure this project will further deepen the friendship and mutual understanding between the people of our two great countries," Zhang added. Endi
