Somali security officer killed, 3 others injured in bomb attack

At least one security officer was killed and three others injured in a car bomb attack in the restive capital Mogadishu on Wednesday, officials said.

Security Commander for Abdiaziz district in Benadir region, Ali Gashanle said the senior intelligence official was killed while three escaped with injuries when a car loaded with explosives exploded at Jubba Junction in Mogadishu.

"Terrorists placed explosives under the car belonging to the security official which later exploded while driving. He was killed and three other security personnel were seriously injured in the attack," Gashanle said.

No group has claimed the responsibility for the latest attack in Mogadishu, but Al-Shabaab militants often claims and carries out such attacks against government and African Union peacekeeping bases. Endit
