Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao met with foreign leaders attending the International Day of Peace event held in the city of Yinchuan in northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Wednesday.

Meeting with Rosana Alvarado, first vice president of the National Assembly of the Republic of Ecuador, Li said China and Ecuador have deepened political mutual trust and conducted fruitful cooperation in finance, energy, mining, infrastructure and diplomatic exchanges.

Li said the Communist Party of China is willing to cooperate with Ecuador's PAIS Alliance movement to enhance the strategic partnership of the two countries.

Alvarado said Ecuador is ready to cooperate with China in various fields.

When meeting Jennifer Simons, chairperson of the National Assembly of the Republic of Suriname, Li hailed the development of China-Suriname ties since diplomatic relations were established over 40 years ago.

Li called on the two sides to enhance political exchanges to boost bilateral ties.

Simons said Suriname is ready to cooperate with China in agriculture, technology, education and personnel training.

When meeting with Tu'ivakano, the speaker of the Legislative Assembly of the Kingdom of Tonga, Li said the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries injected new energy to bilateral ties, and the Belt and Road Initiative opened up prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

Tu'ivakano said Tonga-China ties are at a historical high, and Tonga valued bilateral parliamentary communication and cooperation. Endi
