Cuba and the Czech Republic on Tuesday signed here a memorandum of understanding to establish a framework for cooperation and a mechanism for bilateral political consultations.

The text was endorsed by Cuba's Deputy Foreign Minister Rogelio Sierra and his Czech counterpart Martin Tlapa.

Tlapa stressed Prague's interest to collaborate with the Caribbean nation in areas including public health, energy, agriculture, environment, as well as sports and education.

He also highlighted the number of Czech tourists to Cuba keeps growing, reaching 10,000 annually.

A bilateral entrepreneurial forum is scheduled for Wednesday involving representatives from sectors such as renewable energy, sugar, food, construction, transportation and industries, with an aim to boost economic cooperation under the framework of the new Cuban Foreign Investment Law. Endi
