Finland's Jokerit loses first home match in KHL new season

The Jokerit ice hockey club on Saturday lost its first home match in the 2016-2017 season of Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), beaten by Omsk Avangard from Siberia.

At the Hartwall stadium in Helsinki, the home team leveled the scores three times, and Tommi Huhtala tied the match with only 0.5 second left in the third section during the normal period.

After an extra time without any goal, the two teams entered competition of winning goal. The guest won the game with a final score 4:3.

Saturday's match was Jokerit's first home match of this season, attracting thousands of viewers.

Jokerit was founded in 1967. The six-time Finnish champion joined KHL in 2014-2015 season, becoming the only Finnish team playing the league. Endit
