Russia gives priority to domestic over foreign goods

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed a decree giving priority to Russian goods and services over foreign ones in government procurement starting next year, according to the Russian government website on Friday.

"Set a priority for goods of Russian origin, work and services carried out or rendered by Russian individuals, in carrying out the procurement of goods, work and services over goods originating from a foreign country," said a document published on the website.

According to the document, the decree will come into force on Jan. 1, 2017. Its aim is to stimulate various sectors of the Russian economy. Endi
