The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister of State for Foreign Affairs said Tuesday that the UAE offers condolences to Qatar for its three soldiers killed in Yemen, Emirati state news agency WAM reported.

Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash said "We offer our condolences on the death of martyrs of Qatar who sacrificed their lives for the sake of their country and nation, while on duty as part of the Saudi-led Arab Coalition force Operation Restoring Hope in Yemen."

In a statement issued earlier Tuesday, the Qatari Armed Forces said that their three soldiers were killed in action (KIA) on Monday.

Qatar has around 1,000 troops on the ground in Yemen, according to Dubai daily Gulf news.
