Li Hongzhong appointed Tianjin Party chief

Xinhua, September 13, 2016 Adjust font size:

Li Hongzhong has been appointed secretary of Tianjin Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), according to a statement of the CPC Central Committee released on Tuesday.

Li no longer held the post of secretary of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee, said the statement.

Huang Xingguo was no longer acting Party chief of Tianjin, and he was also removed from his position as deputy Party chief and mayor of the city, it said, adding that his case would be handled "according to relevant laws."

Huang is being investigated for suspected "serious disciplinary violations," the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection said on Saturday. Endit
