Jiangsu Suning smash Shijiazhuang Ever Bright 6-1 in CSL

Xinhua, September 11, 2016 Adjust font size:

With Alex Teixeira's hat trick, Jiangsu Suning smashed Shijiazhuang Ever Bright 6-1 in the 24th round of the Chinese Super League (CSL) on Sunday.

Jiangsu Suning broke the deadlock in the 30th minute as Ji Xiang got straight passing from Roger Martinez and kicked ball into the net. Less than three minutes later, Brazilian striker Teixeira fought for a penalty and he managed to enlarge the gap to 2-0 for the visitors.

Shijiazhuang Ever Bright got no luck today as Mao Jianqing's long-distance shot hit the cross bar in the 37th minute, and Matheus missed the penalty kick two minutes later.

The 25-year-old Brazilian striker Diego Mauricio brought the host back into the game with his solo goal in the 50th minute. But Teixeira scored his second goal in this match just five minutes later.

The nightmare of missing penalty happened to Shijiazhuang Ever Bright again, as Mauricio was the unlucky one this time.

In the last 30 minutes, Martinez, Wu Xi and Teixeira scored respectively for Jiangsu Suning. Teixeira's third goal in the injury time sealed the 6-1 win and helped him move to the seventh place in the top scorer list.

In the other match, Guangzhou Fuli tied Shanghai Greenland 1-1 at home.

The defending champions Guangzhou Evergrande maintained the top place with 53 points, followed by Jiangsu Suning, Shanghai Greenland and Shanghai SIPG. Shijiazhuang Ever Bright dropped to the bottom after the disastrous defeat.

The 25th round of the CSL will kick off next Friday. Endit
