Russia and New Zealand split 2016 Weihai long distance triathlon titles

Russia and New Zealand took the men's and women's titles respectively in Weihai long distance triathlon world series in Weihai, Shandong province on Sunday.

Nikolay Yaroshenko from Russia defended his title in four hours, six minutes and 8.19 seconds. Chinese Jiang Zhihang took the second place, and Russian Denis Vasiliev finished the third.

The women's title went to Amelia Watkinson from New Zealand in 4:31:29.32. Chinese Zhong Mengying got the silver, while Swiss Nina Derron was third.

The long distance triathlon, twice of the Olympic distance, has a total race distance of 103km. The triathletes have to finish 3km of swimming, 80km of cycling and 20km of running. Enditem
