Record high temperature for September 10 in at least 30 years were measured at 46 meteorological stations in the Czech Republic on Saturday, and unusually warm weather has lasted in the country for three days, said the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute.

The highest temperature was registered in the Central Bohemia region. The temperature of 31.8 degrees Celsius was measured in Rez near Prague. In Prague-Karlov, it was 31.2 degrees Celsius.

There are 146 stations in the Czech Republic measuring temperature daily for at least 30 years. Temperature records were beaten at 46 of them, including four with more than 100-year tradition.

The Czech Hydrometeorological Institute also forecast the ongoing drought. The hot and dry weather with temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius in the afternoon will continue in the following days until next Friday, Frantisek Sopko from the institute said.

In the second half of September and early October, there will be above-average temperature and rain will less than the same period of normal year. Endit
