1st LD: Syrian gov't agrees on U.S.-Russia deal to conclude ceasefire

Syria's official SANA news agency said the Syrian government has agreed on the U.S.-Russian agreement concluded a day earlier, regarding establishing a ceasefire in Syria.

A day earlier, the United States and Russia announced a plan to bring about a ceasefire in Syria.

The ceasefire is planned to start at sundown Monday, the first day of the Muslim Feast of Sacrifice Holiday.

"Today we are announcing an arrangement that we think has the capability of sticking, but it's dependent on people's choices," Kerry said in Geneva.

The planned ceasefire is not the first to be agreed upon by both powers, as last February, both agreed on a similar cessation of hostility agreement that held in some parts of the country, including the capital Damascus, and failed in other parts, mainly the northern city of Aleppo. Endit
