Air strikes kill 13 IS militants in E. Afghanistan

Up to 13 militants loyal to the Islamic State (IS) group have been killed during air raids in Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province over the past 24 hours, a statement of Silab 201 Corps stationed in the eastern region said in a statement released here Saturday.

According to the statement, the air strikes were conducted against IS insurgents in Achin and Dehbala districts of Nangarhar province, during which two more insurgents sustained injuries.

The hardliner militant outfit, which is active in parts of Nangarhar province with Jalalabad as its capital 120 km east of Kabul, has yet to make comment. Enditem
