2nd LD: Afghan Taliban enters Uruzgan's provincial capital, fighting going on

Taliban militants entered Uruzgan's provincial capital Trinkot city in south Afghanistan Thursday, fierce fighting going on, spokesman for provincial governor, Dost Mohammad Nayab said.

"Taliban entered the city and presently firefight continues around Governor House and police headquarters in Trinkot city," Nayab told Xinhua.

meanwhile, residents of the city and government employees are leaving for safer places, locals said.

However, officials said that reinforcements have been sent to block Taliban advance in Trinkot, a key city in the southern region of Afghanistan. Endit
