1st LD: 1 suspected militant killed in Bangladeshi capital raid

Xinhua, September 3, 2016 Adjust font size:

One suspected militant was killed during a raid by the police on a hideout in Bangladesh capital Dhaka on Friday night.

The anti-militant raid was still under way, said a police officer who preferred to be unnamed.

He said at least three people including two police officers have been rushed to a hospital with gunshot wounds.

The militants fired and lobbed hand-made grenades as policemen and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members cordoned off a building on receipt of information that militants were hiding there, he added.

In retaliation, police also fired at them.
