Spain's unemployment rises by 0.39 pct in Aug.

The number of people registered as unemployed rose by 0.39 percent from July to August according to data published on Friday by the Spanish Ministry of Employment and Social Security.

The figure meant 14,435 more people unemployed in Spain to a total of 3,697,496 people, which is the lowest figure for the month since 2009.

Unemployment especially rose in the services sector on a month-to-month basis, increasing by 8,431 people, it also increased in the industry and construction sector by 5,884 and 3,548 people respectively. On the other hand, it fell in the agriculture sector by 6,018 people.

The number of unemployed women increased by 6,843 people to 2.07 million and the number of unemployed men rose by 7,592 people to 1.62 million.

Meanwhile, on a year-on-year basis, unemployment fell by 370,459 people, the biggest fall since 1996. Endit
