Irish telecom firm Eir witnessed its revenue growth for the first time since 2008, according to the firm's financial statements on Friday.
Eir, previously called Eircom, said its revenue rose by 4 percent or 45 million euros (50 million U.S. dollars) to 1.3 billion euros over the 12 months to the end of June.
It said its earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) were up 5 percent to 505 million euros year on year.
The company had 854,000 broadband customers at the end of June, up 72,000 year-on-year, according to its financial statements.
Commenting on the financial statements, Eir CEO Richard Moat said this has been another landmark year for the company.
"We have accelerated our 4G rollout program and have now reached 84 percent population coverage which will grow to 95 percent coverage by early 2017," he said.
"We are and will remain fully committed to Ireland's digital future and we are doing more than any other operator in terms of both fixed and mobile network investment," he added.
As a fixed, mobile and broadband telecommunications company in Ireland, Eir is the largest telecommunications operator in the country. The company was state-owned until 1999, when it was floated on the Irish and New York stock exchanges. (1 euro=1.12 U.S. dollar) Endit
