China on Friday held a forum to commemorate the 71st anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

Liu Qibao, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of CPC Central Committee, joined about 200 representatives from various circles at the forum in Beijing.

Senior scholars, officials and military officers, World War II veterans, representatives of non-Communist parties, foreigners who contributed to China's war against the Japanese or their family members attended the forum.

They discussed the significance of the victory and stressed that Chinese people will remember history and be committed to safeguarding peace. Endi
