CPPCC concludes meeting on art development

Xinhua, August 31, 2016 Adjust font size:

China's political advisors on Wednesday wrapped up a three-day meeting on art and literature development.

More should be done to coordinate resources and facilities to ensure the basic cultural interests of key groups such as migrant workers, left-behind women and children in rural areas and young people, members of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee said during the meeting.

Top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng attended the meeting, and chaired Wednesday's closing session.

Suggestions made over the past three days also included creating quality art works that reflect people's demands and real lives, valuing social interests more than economic profits, promoting art criticism and nourishing more talented artists.

CPPCC members were urged to play an active role in the development of the country's socialist art and literature causes and supervise the implementation of various art-related policies set by the central authorities.

The addition and dismissal of several CPPCC National Committee memberships were also approved during the meeting. Endi
