Aftershocks cause new damage to quake-hit areas in central Italy

Fresh tremors hit central Italy on Sunday afternoon, and caused new damage to a school building in the town of Amatrice.

Some 2,002 aftershocks have been registered since the magnitude-6.0 earthquake that killed at least 290 people, according to Ansa News Agency.

The school in Amatrice was restructured recently, but had suffered grave damage in the major earthquake.

Prosecutors have opened an investigation against the builders of the school. Endi
