Algeria coach Rajevac calls for patience

Serbian coach of the Algerian soccer team, Milovan Rajevac, on Saturday claimed that he need time and support in order to incarnate his strategy and lead the North African team to success.

"I need time to put forward my style of play in the Algerian squad," Rajevac told a press conference in Algiers. "I also need the help and support of all actors in Algerian football arena," he added.

The Serbian coach, who took over his new job as head coach of the Greens of Algeria, further urged the media, soccer officials and fans to be patient and wait for six months to see a new look national soccer team.

Rajevac was appointed in his new job later June while replacing Frenchman Christian Gourcuff who resigned on April 3. The first test of the Serbian coach will be on Sept.4 as Algeria is due to face Lesotho in Blida, 50 km south-west of Algiers, part of the last round of CAN-2017 qualifiers.

This game will be without stake for the Algerians who have already booked their ticket in African Cup due in Gabon on January 2017.

The new coach's contract signed with the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) stipulates to reach the semi-final in the CAN 2017, and qualify to the World Cup in Russia 2018. Algeria was drawn in Group B in World Cup 2018 with Cameroon, Nigeria and Zambia. Endit
