-- Former president FW de Klerk has weighed in on the furore surrounding Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan.

De Klerk, speaking on the sidelines of the launch of the Centre for Unity in Diversity in Johannesburg, said: "What is happening around the minister of finance is a tragedy." (Business Day)

-- African National Congress elders must stop dragging the party's name through the mud and embarrassing the movement, the ANC Youth League said on Friday.

It accused former SA Human Rights Commission head Sipho Pityana of being unruly and disruptive at the funeral of former sports minister Makhenkhesi Stofile, in Alice in the Eastern Cape on Thursday, it said in a statement. (News24)
