Ten Cambodian workers, who had been jailed in Bukit Jalil prison in Malaysia, returned home this week after the Cambodian embassy there requested the Malaysian authorities to release them from the prison, a spokesman said on Friday.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Chum Sounry said in a statement that the 10 returnees, including four women, aged between 20 and 42 years old.
He said the Cambodian embassy officials in Malaysia had cooperated with the International Organization for Migration to send them back to Phnom Penh on Wednesday evening.
Earlier this month, 18 Cambodians were freed from the Bukit Jalil prison in a suburb of Kuala Lumpur after an intervention from the Cambodian embassy there.
