Newcastle goalie Krul joins Ajax on loan

Newcastle's goalkeeper Tim Krul joined Ajax on loan on Thursday until the end of the season.

The 28-year-old, who signed a one-year contract extension with Newcastle, has agreed to remain a Newcastle player until the summer of 2018.

However, Krul will spend the rest of the 2016/17 season with Ajax, as he is still recovering from a ligament injury suffered last October.

Krul has made 185 appearances for Newcastle since 2005. He became the Magpies first choice goalkeeper in the 2011/12 season. Endit
