Bank of Communications net profit up 0.9 pct in 1H

China's Bank of Communications on Thursday night said its net profit in H1 edged up 0.9 percent year on year to 37.6 billion yuan (5.7 billion U.S. dollars).

During the six months, the bank reaped 103.6 billion yuan in net operating revenue, up 6.6 percent year on year, it said in a filing to the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

Its profits from overseas business and non-banking subsidiaries soared 29.7 percent and 22.8 percent, respectively.

The bank's total assets hit 7.96 trillion yuan, up 11.2 percent from the end of 2015, while its outstanding loans edged up 7 percent to 3.98 trillion yuan, it said. Endi
