Singapore stocks close 0.67 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 19.14 points, or 0.67 percent, to close at 2,869.57.

A total of 987.5 million shares changed hands with turnover of 838.2 million Singapore dollars (619.7 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 236 to 151, while 525 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 9.24 points, or 0.33 percent, to close at 2,850.43 on Tuesday. Endit
