Armenia wants more cooperation with China in infrastructure

Xinhua, August 23, 2016 Adjust font size:

Armenia desires further cooperation with China in mutually beneficial infrastructure projects, the press office of the Armenian Ministry of Transport and Communication said Tuesday.

Armenian Transport and Communication Minister Gagik Beglaryan expressed this desire here when meeting a visiting Chinese delegation headed by Chinese Vice Commerce Minister Qian Keming, it said.

Qian said that the Chinese side would build its contracted portion of a major highway in Armenia "with quality and on time," while anticipating comprehensive support from the Armenian side.

Chinese Sinohydro Group Ltd. was contracted by Armenia's government in May to carry out the construction of a portion of a lengthy highway connecting Armenia's southern and northern borders.

The Chinese side has also shown interest in the prospects of the Armenia-Iran railway, the press office said. Endi
