-- Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn has met with the recently appointed UN Environment Programme (UNEP) Executive Director Erik Solheim.

-- The Ethiopian Peoples' Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) on Monday passed resolutions to address the threats against developmental democratic system and bolster the rights and benefits of the people.

In a communique issued at the conclusion of its regular meeting this evening, the executive committee hailed the achievements attained over the past 15 years and identified abuse of power for private gains as one of the challenges facing the developmental democratic system.
