Tunisian international Ben-Hatira joins Darmstadt

Darmstadt signed Tunisian free midfielder Aenis Ben-Hatira with immediate effect, the Bundesliga club announced on Monday.

The 28-year-old former Eintracht Frankfurt player, who was out of contract recently, joined Darmstadt and received jersey No. 28. The "Lilien" kept silent over further contracts details.

"The talks with those responsible have convinced me of this task here in Darmstadt," Ben-Hatira said. "I am very happy to stay in the Bundesliga and can not wait to start."

Ben-Hatira, who played for Eintracht Frankfurt last season, scored 14 goals in 90 appearances in Germany's top flight and had played for Hamburg and Berlin among others.

The central midfielder, who made his debut for Tunisia's national squad on February 2012, has played nine caps ever since.
