Ethiopian, Chinese runners triumph at Ordos marathon

Ethiopian distance runner Bekele Tarekegn Zewdu and China's Zhang Jingxia won the men's and the women's marathons respectively on Sunday in Ordos, a city of north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

In the men's full marathon, Zewdu finished first in two hours, 27 minutes and 53 seconds, followed by China's Bao Bilige in 2:32:15. Chinese runner Jia Junfeng stood third with 2:41:03.

Zhang Jingxia took the women's title at three hours, five minutes and 55 seconds, while the runner-up Qian Aruna of Inner Mongolia finished in 3:15:05, followed by Shandong's Fang Guangxia with 3:19:2.

A total of 15,000 professional and amateur runners participated in the full marathon, half marathon and a 5-km mini marathon in Ordos. Endit
