American actor Ron Perlman starring in Cuban film

American actor Ron Perlman, famous for his performances in "The name of the Rose" and other films, is starring in a Cuban movie directed by the renowned Cuban director Ernesto Daranas,according his announcement last week.

On his social media, Perlman posted pictures taken in Havana near the Promenade area in northwest Cuba next to the sea where he was accompanied by the film crew including Daranas, the Cuban artist Kelvis Ochoa and his Irish colleague AJ Buckley.

The new film is named "The Castaway" but no further details so far are known.

Ron Perlman is also well known for his roles in Cronos (1993), Hellboy (2004),Pacific Rim (2013), and Crime and Punishment (2002), among many others.

From 1987 to 1990, he starred in the TV series "Beauty and Beast" as the main character "Vincent", which won him a Golden Globe Award in 1988.

Since the restoring of the diplomatic relations between the United States and Cuba in July 2015, Cuba has become a popular tourist destination for Americans, but among all the visitors, Perlman is the first American actor involved in a local film-shooting project. Endit
