1st LD: 2 dead in training aircraft crash in Turkey

Xinhua, August 17, 2016 Adjust font size:

Two people were killed when a training aircraft crashed in Turkey's northwestern city of Tekirdag on Wednesday, Turkish media reported.

The aircraft with four onboard took off from the Corlu Airport for training but crashed due to unidentified causes, reports said.

The conditions of the other two aboard the aircraft were not immediately known.

Eyewitnesses saw the plane burnt and broke into scattered pieces, the private Dogan news agency said.

"One of those killed was reportedly a trainer pilot while the other one was a trainee," a district governor was quoted as saying.

Emergency crew are working on the crash site, Dogan said. Endit
