Singapore stocks close 0.54 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 15.45 points, or 0.54 percent, to close at 2,843.35.

A total of 917 million shares changed hands with turnover of 750 million Singapore dollars (559.7 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 230 to 150, while 526 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 8.41 points, or 0.29 percent, to close at 2,858.80 on Tuesday. Endit
